T-Mobile Announces QWERTY-Enabled Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G Price, Release Date

After unveiling it last week, T-Mobile has revealed more details on the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G, an Android-powered handset equipped with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that will hit shelves next week.

The Relay 4G will be available nationwide at T-Mobile stores, select national retailers and online, on Sept. 19. It is going to sell for $150 after a $50 rebate with a two-year contract.

QWERTY Enabled 

Packing a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor, the Relay 4G will be powered by Android 4.0, though no word yet on when the phone will be getting a tasty upgrade to Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean."

The smartphone will sport a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 resolution and will feature dual cameras, with a 5-megapixel shooter in the rear and a 1.3-megapixel cam in the front. Equipped with 4G HSPA+ and Wi-Fi calling, Sammy's next handset will be able to support up to five devices by acting as a mobile hotspot, depending on data plan, of course.

In addition to housing a full 5-row QWERTY keyboard, the Relay 4G is also a Samsung SAFE (Samsung Approved for Enterprise) designated device, meaning that the phone will ship with a full portfolio of enterprise-ready features and capabilities, including a comprehensive IT Policy support for top-tier MDM solutions, an on-device AES-256 bit encryption, and enhanced support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
