For those that can't possibly contain their excitement over the impending launch of Windows Phone 8, here's a tidbit to ease your anticipation blues: AT&T will supposedly begin taking preorders for WP8 devices from Nokia and HTC on October 21.
Given that Microsoft has already sent out formal invites to an October 29 launch of Windows Phone 8, the rumored date, which was reported by The Verge and gives the carrier about a week to start preparing orders, makes sense. Also the Windows Phone 8 devices that AT&T will be offering are all scheduled to end up in the hands of users in "early November," so the preorder date doesn't seem too far in advance.
On the tablet side of things, AT&T will also begin taking preorders for the Samsung Ativ Smart PC and Asus Vivo Tab RT on the same day, October 21. This, too, meshes well with the scheduled launch date of Windows 8, which is expected to hit on October 25, with devices going on sale the following day.
