After what is believed to be the Nokia Lumia 822, codenamed Atlas, was revealed yesterday in the form of a leaked press image on Twitter, in-the-wild photos surfaced shortly after, giving everyone more of a taste of the Verizon-bound Windows Phone 8 device.
It appears that the back of the carrier's exclusive version of the Lumia 820 -- where the 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss Optics is found -- will have a matte finish, providing users with a better grip than the slick, glossy plastic casings found on many other models. Toward the bottom of the device is Verizon's 4G LTE branding.
Although the phone has yet to receive an official announcement, certain features and specs are already known about the Lumia 822, given that it's a carrier-specific variant of the Lumia 820, the specs of which Nokia has confirmed. These include a 4.3-inch, WVGA screen, interchangeable casings that can give the phone NFC connectivity, and of course, 4G LTE.
Without an official reveal from Nokia or Verizon, there's no information yet about pricing or availability, though it's probably a safe bet that the Lumia 822 will be released around the same time as the HTC 8X, another Windows Phone 8 handset for Verizon that has already been confirmed by the carrier.
