LG Optimus G Available Nov. 2 from AT&T, Preorders Start Today

It looks like AT&T customers will be the first to get their hands on LG's upcoming flagship smartphone, the Optimus G, as the carrier has announced that the $200 phone will hit shelves Nov. 2, with pre-orders beginning today.

The $200 price tag represents AT&T's on-contract cost with a two-year agreement. The carrier announced earlier this month that it would offer the Optimus G, though left important details, such as its price and release date, a mystery, until now.

The next flagship from LG has been getting a lot of hype lately, and if it lives up to the buildup, the pre-order could possibly sell out, so fans of the device better act fast! The smartphone will run on AT&T's dual-band 4G LTE, and thanks to its 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, the Optimus G will be the first quad-core phone on the carrier's high-speed network.

With a sleek design, measuring only 0.33 inches thick and weighing in at 5.11 ounces, the Optimus G is going to sport a 4.7-inch, 1280 x 768 True HD IPS Plus display and will ship with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), though it will likely get a taste of version 4.1 (Jelly Bean) at a later date. The high-end smartphone will also feature a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, as well as a rear-facing 8-megapixel shooter -- a bit of a letdown compared to Sprint's iteration, which will boast a 13-megapixel camera.
