T-Mobile has a treat in store for its consumers, as it revealed both the date and price of its new upcoming handset, the budget friendly LG Optimus L9. Earlier this month the smartphone was speculated to be releasing on Oct. 31 after numerous leaks. Today, T-Mobile has officially confirmed that consumers will be able to purchase the smartphone both in stores and online starting on Halloween.
The handset will be considered a budget smartphone, and will offer a 4.5-inch display with a 960 x 540 resolution. It is also set to house a 1 GHz dual-core processor, with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and it will be microSD compatible. The device will run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream), offering both a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera. All of this will be topped off by its large 2,150 mAh battery.
Price and Availability
Consumers will be able to purchase the handset at T-Mobile retailers and online starting on Oct. 31. The carrier will offer the LG Optimus L9 for $80 after a $50 mail in rebate with a two year contract. However, consumers will also be to purchase the handset through an installment plan, paying $49 initially and $15 per month for 20 months (does not include additional cost of phone bill).
