The Samsung Galaxy Note II is launching from two U.S. carriers this week, but Verizon subscribers who want this super-size smartphone still have weeks of waiting ahead of them.
Overview of the Samsung Galaxy Note II
The Galaxy Note II has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display, large enough for some call it a tabletphone -- part tablet, part phone. Still, with the steadily increasing size of handsets, this device is only a bit bigger than many of its rivals. Its screen has a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels (720p).
It runs Google's Android 4.1 (Jelly bean) with TouchWiz 4.0 on a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB of built-in storage, with a microSD slot to add more.
The device is powered by a 3100 mAh battery, and comes equipped with both an 8-megapixel rear- and 1.9-megapixel front-facing cameras. Verizon's version will support the carrier's 4G LTE network, and have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
