Apple Promises to Work ''Non-stop'' to Fix Maps

When Apple switched out Google Maps for its own app in iOS 6, it quickly drew complaints. The company has vowed to update this software as quickly as it can.

It didn't take users of Apple Maps to find problems with it. Most of these result from missing or incorrect data in the maps being used, not in the software itself. The basic problem was that Apple was replacing the very polished Google Maps with something that seemed like a beta.

Apple CEO Tim Cook appologized for this, but that's not all the company is doing.

Progress Is Being Made

In a conference call with investors today, Peter Oppenheimer, Apple's Chief Financial Officer said:

"We've made a number of improvements in maps over the past month, and we will work non-stop until maps lives up to our incredibly high standards."

In the mean time, however, there any many iPhone and iPad users who are hoping Google will introduce a stand-alone version of its navigation app for the iOS.
