T-Mobile Reveals Prices, Release Date for Nokia Lumia 810, HTC 8X Windows Phones

With today's official launch of Windows Phone 8, T-Mobile is taking the opportunity to announce its plans for smartphones running this operating system. It will have a pair of them on the market in a little more than two weeks.

Nokia Lumia 810

T-Mobile will be the exclusive provider of the Lumia 810. Still, it is going to be somewhat similar to another of Nokia's Windows Phone 8 devices, the Lumia 820. This means it will include a 4.3-inch, *00 x 480 (WVGA) Clear Black display, as well as the ability to add on wireless charging abilities in the form of an interchangeable shell (available in cyan or black).

Other features are going to include an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera plus a 1.2-megapixel, front-facing one, as well as support for 4G HSPA+.

It was revealed today that when the Lumia 810 debuts on Nov. 14, it will sell for $150 after a $50 mail-in-rebate and with a two-year service agreement.

HTC 8X

HTC's flagship handset running Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 will be the 8X. This will have a 4.3-inch, 1280 x 720 display and a 1.5 GHz, dual-core processor. The handset will have 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB storage, though it will not be expandable.

It is also going to include dual cameras: an 8-megapixel rear-facing one and a 2.1 megapixel front-facing shooter. Beats Audio support will be included.

The HTC 8X is also going to launch on Nov. 14. It will sell for $200 with a $50 mail-in-rebate and a two-year service agreement.

More Options

T-Mobile is not the only U.S. telecom that will offer devices running Windows Phone 8. AT&T is also going to release its own version of the HTC 8X and the Nokia Lumia 920. Verizon plans to offer multiple smartphones based on this operating system from Microsoft, including the Nokia Lumia 822.
