The new version of the app, version 3.0, has been redubbed simply, "Windows Phone," a change from last generation's "Windows Phone 7 Connector." As far as compatibility is concerned, the Windows Phone app plays nice with Retina Macs, while some of the new features include drag and drop capability in both directions and support for iPhone 9.3.2 and Aperture 3.3.2.
According to the software notes, Windows Phone 8 devices, like the Lumia 920 and the HTC 8X, will have additional features, like "enhanced capability support for ringtone files" and the ability to monitor the battery life of the phone from the app. For those that are interested, the app is available for download now for OSX users from the Apple App Store.
