It appears Samsung's Galaxy Note II has found even more of a following than its predecessor, with the company announcing it has sold more than 3 million of the smartphone/tablet hybrids in just over a month.
In a translated news release, Samsung reporter that sale trends for the second-generation Note are much faster than the original, hitting the milestone number in just 37 days.
First released in South Korea in September, the Note II has recently hit the U.S., with the super-sized smartphone already available at Sprint and T-Mobile. With AT&T and Verizon taking preorders for the device, it will soon be availed on the nation's four largest carriers.
Sporting a 5.5-inch, 1280 x 720 resolution display, the phablet offers a larger screen than that of its 5.3-inch predecessor. While the original Note was met with criticism for its larger than average display, it soon found a niche with consumers looking for an impressive screen. Although with Sammy's flagship phone, the Galaxy S III housing a large display, and models like the LG Intuition, the Note is no longer alone in the large device arena.
Despite this, the Note II seems to have garnered a strong following, perhaps because of its 1.6 GHz quad-core processor or its ever popular S Pen stylus. Either way, only time will tell if Samsung can hold on to its success as the holiday season approaches.
