The Windows Phone 8 release announcements continue, with today's news coming out of Verizon Wireless. Two of the carrier's WP8 devices, the HTC 8X and the Nokia Lumia 822, are available for preorder as of this morning.
The HTC 8X will sport a 4.3-inch, 1280 x 720 display, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, and will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. As has been the case with many of HTC's recent premium phones, the smartphone will also feature Beats Audio.
The Lumia 822 is going to be built around a 4.3-inch, 800 x 480 (WVGA) screen. It will include a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, with 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD card slot. The smartphone will have an 8MP camera.
And the Prices Are...
The 8X, which will be available in blue, red, or black, is available for $200 with a new two year contract and will ship on November 13, according to Verizon's website. The Lumia 822 will also ship on November 13 in black, white, and grey, and has a subsidized price of $100 after a $50 rebate.
For more information on either phone, have a look at our HTC 8X review or our preview of the Lumia 820 (the Lumia 822 is a carrier-specific version of the Lumia 820).
The status of Verizon's third WP8 phone, the Samsung ATIV Odyssey, remains a mystery, as the press release only states that it will be available by "the end of the year" with more info to come.
