HTC Droid DNA Launching from Verizon Next Week: It's Official

Verizon has taken the wraps off the HTC Droid DNA, a high-end smartphone that will sport the highest pixel density of any smartphone. It is available to pre-order now.

The centerpiece of this model is going to be its 5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 (1080p) resolution. This will give it a slightly larger screen than most of its competitors, like the Samsung Galaxy S III, and a higher pixel density: 440 pixels per inch. The screen itself will be a super LCD 3 display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

At the heart of the Droid DNA will be a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. It will run Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean) along with HTC Sense 4+.

The handset is going to have an 8MP main camera, as well as a 2.1MP front-facing camera.

It will sport built-in wireless charging, making it easy to re-charge throughout the day. With Near Field Communication (NFC), the phone will be able to communicate with other devices by tapping them together to share business cards or music playlists.

The HTC Droid DNA will be available exclusively from Verizon Wireless, who is taking pre-orders starting today at www.verizonwireless.com/droiddna. The smartphone will be available online and in stores nationwide beginning Tuesday, November 21.

It is going to sell for $200 with a two-year service contract.
