Head of Nokia's Design Team Discusses the Lumia 920

Marko Ahtisaari, the head of Nokia's design team, talks about his company's latest flagship phone in a recent video. He gives an in-depth look into the design process for a world-class smartphone.

Ahtisaari says, "It's not interesting to do something different just for the sake of being different. You want to do something meanfully better.  I thing with the Lumia 920 and this family of Lumia products we've created a really beautiful balance between the digital and the physical. We take everything unnecessary away and you are left with only the essentials."

Overview of the Nokia Lumia 920

The Lumia 920 is Nokia's latest signature smartphone, as it features a 4.5-inch WXGA (1280 x 800) display, a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, and the newest version of Microsoft's mobile operating system, Windows Phone 8.

It also has 1GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory; there isn't a microSD memory card slot, but 7GB of free SkyDrive (cloud) storage that adds extra capacity. The device is powered by a 2000 mAh battery integrated with Qi wireless charging, and it includes an 8MP rear-facing camera.

In the U.S., this smartphone is available from AT&T and costs $100 with a two-year contract.
