Lumia 920 Selling Well, Some Regions in Short Supply

It looks like the Lumia 920 from Nokia won't be going the way of the Lumia 900, with initial reports indicating that the AT&T-exclusive handset is selling so well many regions are currently in short supply of the handset.

While the Lumia 900 was a critical success but a commercial flop, the Windows Phone 8-based Lumia 920 is riding its wave of positive reviews to become the third-bestselling AT&T handset for November, coming in behind the Apple iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S III. It was also the best-selling Windows Phone handset for the carrier, beating out the likes of the Lumia 820 and the HTC 8X.

That being said, Canaccord Genuity, the firm that performed the channel checks to compile last month's smartphone sales, has said that the current Lumia 920 shortage is, in some cases, due to an initial short supply rather than its popularity. Canaccord Genuity's T. Michael Walkley said in the team's findings that, "limited initial supply was cited as the reason for early post-launch stock-outs at some carriers versus overwhelming demand."
