List of HTC Phones Recieving Android 4.1 Upgrades Leaks Out

HTC has been a bit slow in upgrading its phones to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), which debuted this summer. In October, HTC announced that it would offer upgrades for the One X and One S, but since then many of its other handsets have been left wanting.

Today, it appears that HTC may finally begin bringing Android 4.1 to a number of its smartphones introduced this year, as a recent Twitter leak suggests a number handsets are set to receive upgrades.

The leak was provided by @Football4PDA, who has leaked accurate information regarding HTC in the past. Being somewhat cryptic, the tweet alluded to the devices receiving upgrades by using their codenames.

The tweet states:

Of the models mentioned, the ones most interesting are Verizon's HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE (Fireball), Sprint's HTC Evo 4G LTE (Jewel), The HTC One VX (Totem C2), and the HTC One S (Ville).

On the other hand the "Evitare", or the HTC One X+, is cause for confusion. That handset already runs on Android 4.1, so its inclusion in this rumor could be a mistake, or the smartphone could be receiving an upgrade to Android 4.2. Most likely it's the latter, as Google has decided that both Android 4.1 and Android 4.2 fall under the "Jelly Bean" codename.

While @Football4PDA's list has yet to be confirmed or denied, the limited list is troubling. If this list does prove to be accurate, what does this mean for the rest of HTC's catalog? The Sensation, Desire X, Incredible S and Amaze were all left off this list.

Of course it's too early to say that these devices will not receive an Android OS upgrade, but their exclusion is troubling.
