Samsung Reveals Android 4.1 Premium Suite Upgrade for First-Gen Galaxy Note, Confirms Multi-Window View

With the holiday season coming to a close, it seems Samsung is still in the giving spirit, as the manufacturer has revealed all the details of the Android 4.1 Premium Suite upgrade that is set to hit the original Galaxy Note in due time, confirming features such as multi-window viewing and Google Now .

While Sammy neglected to mention a specific roll out date, the company did lift the curtain on what the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) upgrade will include. Most notably is the confirmation that the first-generation phablet will house Samsung-specific features like multi-window view (which will allow users to split their screens to perform multiple tasks simultaneously) and photo frame mode, which lets users write notes on their pictures.

The new interface will be similar to that of the Note's popular successor, which offers settings intended to help users multitask, such as Popup Note, Popup Video and Popup Browser. The S Pen will also see some improvements, with enhancements like Air View, which gives owners the ability to watch video previews with the stylus. Users will also be able to create notebooks with images, templates, videos, and other effects thanks to the Enhanced S Note feature.

Of course, Galaxy Note owners will get to play around with Google Now, an intuitive Siri-like voice assistant that continues to learn more about the user by gathering information from her search history, time zone and location.

Keeping mum about exactly when Galaxy Note owners will get a taste of Android 4.1, Samsung recently started delivering the Premium Suite upgrade to the Galaxy S III, giving the smartphone some sweet new software features.
