CES 2013: Windows Phone 8 Coming to Sprint This Summer

It may have taken a little while, but Windows Phone 8 will finally be making its way to Sprint this summer, the company announced at CES 2013 today.

This marks the arrival of Windows Phone 8 on the last of the four major wireless carriers in the US (the other three being Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and T-Mobile), and it comes in the form of two phones: one from Samsung and one from HTC. Unfortunately, Sprint is being coy about what exact models will be coming to the Now Network, so it is currently unknown whether it will inherit existing Windows Phone 8 devices from the two manufacturers (e.g. ATIV S, ATIV Odyssey, 8X) or new phones will be introduced.

Sprint did say, however, that the devices will offer both 3G and 4G LTE, while also listing a handful of generic specs that are essentially required of any Windows Phone 8 device, including dual-core processors and dual cameras. Beyond that, no more details were given, including the pricing, which the carrier said will be revealed closer to the phones' availability dates.
