The economy may be bouncing back slowly, but times are still tough and people are looking to save money any way they can. Verizon's new prepaid plans may be the best option for budget-minded individuals. However there's a catch: the plans are only eligible for 3G smartphones -- no 4G-enabled devices allowed.
The wireless provider announced its new wireless prepaid plans that provide unlimited talk, text, and 500MB of data for $60 a month, or for an additional $10 a month, users can receive 2GB of data in addition to unlimited talk and text. The plans are available for many 3G-only smartphones that run on Android, BlackBerry, or iOS.
Verizon is urging users to get a hold of old handsets in order to take advantage of this new plan. Namely the carrier highlighted the HTC Droid Incredible 2 which was among Verizon's last high-end 3G-only smartphone released back in 2011.
Users looking to save a few bucks may want to check their drawers for older cellular devices; Verizon's new prepaid plan is a great deal, for those who have the devices. The new plans are available starting today.
