Although Nokia has been working to get the Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade onto as many of its devices as possible, there's one model that won't be getting it: T-Mobile's Nokia Lumia 710.
When asked about the Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade, a spokesperson for T-Mobile said: "At this time, the Nokia Lumia 710 will not receive the software update."
No reason was given, but versions of this smartphone released in other countries are getting the upgrade, so the stop light is coming from T-Mobile.
Other older Nokia models that debuted with Windows Phone 7 are getting Windows Phone 7.8, like the Lumia 800 and Lumia 900.
More about Windows Phone 7.8
Handsets that debuted running Windows Phone 7 can not be upgraded to Windows Phone 8. Windows Phone 7.8 is Microsoft's effort to bridge the gap by bringing some of the new features ton WP8 to older models.
Some of the changes in WP7.8 are tweaks and minor upgrades, but there is a new Start screen, where users will now have a third tile size to help further customize the appearance of their smartphone. There are also new theme colors, as well as Marketplace enhancements.
