Samsung Galaxy S IV Will Be Unveiled on March 14

The wait for the Samsung Galaxy S IV is almost over. This cutting-edge smartphone is going to be announced on March 14.

The smartphone-oriented Mobile World Congress tradeshow is going on this week in Barcelona, but Samsung is passing it by, and will take the wraps off its next flagship phone at a private event in New York City.

Still, Samsung is using MWC to hand out the invitations to this event (Brighthand's Grant Hatchimonji had his hand-delivered at this event today.)

The invite doesn't specifically say what's going to be announced, but the Galaxy S series gets a refresh every year at about this time, and a number of unconfirmed reports have pointed to a mid-March announcement. The Galaxy S4 definitely isn't being announced at MWC.

What the Rumors Say About the Samsung Galaxy S IV

The projected specifications for the successor to the Galaxy S III live up to the term "flagship smartphone". It is expected to run Google Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) on an Exynos 5 Octa (8-core) processor, with Mali-T658 (8-core) GPU, with 2GB of RAM,

There will supposedly be a 5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display, 2600 mAh battery, and a 13MP rear-facing and 2MP front-facing cameras.
