A Google executive recently made it clear that its Motorola subsidiary is going to step up its game. He could have been referring to the NXT, a device that will reportedly have some cutting-edge features.
This smartphone will have a 4.7-inch 1920 x 1080 (full HD) display, according to a report from Android World. This would give it a screen that's a bit larger than average, but smaller than some rivals.
The NXT will allegedly debut with the next version of Android, code-named Key Lime Pie. At its heart will be a quad-core Tegra 4i processor.
A rear-facing camera with a 16-megapixel camera is part of the leaked feature list, along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. This would give it front- and rear-facing cameras that are significantly higher resolution than any of their competitors. The front camera is supposed to be able to detect eye movement to to used in automatic page scrolling.
Overall, the device will be 5.2 x 2.6 x 0.3 inches (131.2 x 66.7 x 7.9 mm).
The Motorola NXT will likely be introduced in May. Pricing is not yet known, nor is anything about geographical and telecom availability.
