Apple's iOS 6.1 had two major bugs, one that caused issues with Microsoft Exchange email service, and another that created a bypass to the security lock an iPhone.
Last month Apple released iOS patch 6.1.2 to fix the former issues, and the company later released beta patch iOS 6.1.3 in hopes of fixing the latter.Today, Apple has released the official iOS 6.1.3 update, and it is available to all Apple consumers running iOS.
The lockscreen bug made it possible to bypass the security lock on an iPhone by making and cancelling an emergency call and pressing the home and lock button at the right time.
The newly-released patch first and foremost addresses the bypass lock screen bug, but it also offers several additional fixes as well. Apple Maps has received an updates for the nation of Japan, and a variety of undisclosed security patches have been included in the update.
How to Install
The update is available for modern iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches; and it can be downloaded by heading to the settings menu on a device, or connecting a device to iTunes.
