Apparently no U.S. carrier is going t pick up the Sony Xperia XL, but those in those country who are interested in this high-end phone will soon be able to buy it unlocked, straight from Sony.
This device has a 5-inch, 1920 x 1080 "Reality Display". It runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) on a 1.5 GHz, quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, with 2 GB of RAM. There's 16 GB of onboard storage with a microSD card slot for expansion.
It sports 13.1 MP/2.2 MP rear- and front-facing cameras, respectively.
There are two versions available to pre-order from the Sony Store. One that has 4G LTE costs $760, while an HSPA one is $720. They are being sold unlocked so they are usable with any GMS carrier, and the more expensive version should be able to connect to AT&T's LTE network.
