T-Mobile's 4G LTE Network Finally Available

In addition to revealing when it will introduce the iPhone, T-Mobile also stepped up to the plate today by introducing its 4G LTE network in select cities.

The carrier has been offering 4G service via an HSPA+ network for many months, but LTE is faster and more widely used -- the other three largest U.S. carriers already have LTE networks deployed.

As of today, T-Mobile is offering LTE Baltimore, Houston, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Jose, and Washington, D.C. The telecom says it expects to reach 100 million Americans with LTE service by midyear, and 200 million by the end of 2013.

LTE-Enabled Smartphones

Having a faster network is little use if there aren't any smartphones capable of connecting to it. Fortunately for its customers, there is a range of LTE-enabled devices coming from this company soon.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II and BlackBerry Z10 are available now, and the Apple iPhone 5 and HTC One will be released next month. The Samsung Galaxy S IV is scheduled to be released this spring, and the T-Mobile Sonic 2.0 Mobile HotSpot LTE is also coming soon.
