T-Mobile Now Offering BlackBerry Z10

The BlackBerry Z10 is now available at T-Mobile retailers starting today. The release of the  LTE-enabled handset is timed perfectly, as T-Mobile also announced the launch of its LTE network, which is going live in seven launch markets today.

The Hardware

The handset offers a 4.2-inch display with a 1280 x 768 resolution and a pixel density of 356 dpi. It runs on BlackBerry 10 with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and an 1800 mAh battery.

Pricing and Availability

According to T-Mobile's website, the BlackBerry Z 10 is available for either $531 up front; or customers can opt of pay overtime plan, paying $99 now and then $18 a month over the next 24 months.  Both plans end up costing the same.

The new pricing model is part of T-Mobile "Uncarrier" initiative, in which T-Mobile separates the cost of the phone and the plan from one another.

BlackBerry Z10 on Other Carriers

With its release today T-Mobile is the second carrier to offer the BlackBerry Z10, in the wake of AT&T, which released the device last week. Sprint already announced that it has no plans to carry the BlackBerry Z10, though the carrier plans to offer the BlackBerry Q10 in the future. Finally, Verizon is expected to introduce the handset on Thursday.
