The LG Lucid 2, formerly known as the LG Optimus F5, is heading to Verizon. The handset is going to offer an affordable LTE alternative for users looking to make the transition from feature phone to full-fledged smartphone.
With new users in mind, the LG Lucid 2 will offer Smart Mode, a simplified experience geared specifically for first time smartphone users. The option offers five home screen buttons along with a selection of pre-set widgets including My Apps, My Contacts, and My Settings. Once users become more accustomed to using the smartphone, they will be able to enable standard mode for a more traditional smartphone experience.
The Lucid 2 will be available online at Verizon Wireless' website on April 4 for free with a two-year contract and is expected to hit shelves in Verizon Wireless retailers in the coming weeks.
The Hardware
The LG Lucid 2 will offer a 4.3-inch qHD display. The device is going to be powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon Krait processor, with 1GB of RAM, and a 2,150MAh battery.
The device will run on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box, and will offer a 5MP rear-facing camera as well as a front-facing one.
