In the wake of a similar update from Sprint for the same handset last month, the LG Optimus G is now receiving an Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update from AT&T.
News of the still unannounced AT&T update first leaked on the XDA Developer Forums. Forum member bloodiedwrath revealed the update after getting hold of an AT&T internal document. The update can be downloaded over the air.
New Features
Android 4.1.2 offers a number of new features including changes to the interface, which offers a smoother experience as graphic operations are timed and synchronized.
The update also supports use of voice-to-text functions offline and automatic widget re-sizing.
In addition, Android 4.1.2 brings fixes to the camera app, making access to photos easier for users. Finally, the Jelly Bean update introduces Google Now, which allows users to quickly access information via Google searches and a collection of user data.
The AT&T update also includes support for the Isis Mobile Wallet. However, right now, the Isis app only works in Austin, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah.
