Starting today, Verizon Wireless has begun rolling out updates to Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) for the Droid Bionic, offering customers a number of enhancements.
New Features
The enhancements include voice search, which allows users to quickly access information hands free.
The update also offers an upgrade to notifications, allowing users to take actions directly from the panel. Sending emails or returning calls can now be completed directly from the notice.
Users will also gain access to Google Now, which provides users with a plethora of useful real-time information such as weather, traffic reports, and sports scores.
Finally, the upgrade offers a few enhancements to the keyboard, such as voice-to-text functionality offline, updated dictionaries for better accuracy, and improved text-to-speech functionality.
How to Download
Verizon Wireless is offering the download both over-the-air (OTA) and through Motorola Software Upgrade.
The upgrade is roughly 99MB. It should take around 10 to 15 minutes to download the software, and then another five to 10 additional minutes to install it. More information on installing the upgrade can be found on the Verizon Wireless website.
