Sprint and T-Mobile Push Back Galaxy S IV Release Dates

The Samsung Galaxy S IV is nearing release, but consumers may have to wait a bit longer than originally anticipated. On Tuesday, T-Mobile announced that its pushing back the release date for Samsung's new handset due to an "unexpected delay with inventory deliveries".

Today, Sprint followed suit, announcing that it will also have to push back its in-store release of the Samsung's newest flagship device.

T-Mobile had originally scheduled to offer the device online starting April 24, however due to limited availability users won't be able to get their hands on the device until April 29. T-Mobile will also be offering the handset in brick and mortar stores starting on May 1.

Sprint planned on offering the Samsung Galaxy S IV starting on April 27, but the carrier has since pushed back to an undisclosed date. The good news however, is that users can still acquire the new device through alternative means as online and phone based sales will be available as planned.

About the Hardware

The Galaxy S IV will offer a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 441ppi. The device will run on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box and s powered by a 1.9Ghz Quad-Core processor, with 2GB of RAM, and 16/ 32GB of internal memory with micro SD support. The handset also offers a 2,600 mAh battery and a 13MP rear-facing camera.
