Samsung will be refreshing its i500 Palm OS SmartPhone device with a release of the Samsung i550 in the U.S. on the Sprint network later this year. This device will carry over much of the same design features from the original i500 but will be using Palm OS 5.2.

As you can see from the above picture, one major design difference is that the i550 will do away with the graffiti area that appeared on the i500 device.
The memory onboard the i550 will get a boost from 16MB up to 32MB relative to the older i500 device. Memory expansion will be available through via use of an SD card. The battery will of course be removable so you can carry an extra when you're on the road. This SmartPone will be a CDMA network phone, just like the i500 was. Availability should be 2nd half of 2004.
