Despite the fact that an unlocked version of the relatively similar Sony Xperia ZL came to the US earlier this year, an FCC listing has revealed that Sony will also be releasing the flagship Xperia Z on T-Mobile's 4G LTE network sometime down the road.
The photos in the listing provided definitive proof of the Xperia Z being destined for T-Mobile's networks (confirming the phone's AWS LTE and pentaband HSPA+ capabilities), and also showed a detailed user manual that featured T-Mobile branding. T-Mobile, however, has yet to give an official statement regarding the phone's release. Until then, we have no details about pricing or availability.
To put things in perspective, however, the unlocked Xperia ZL debuted in the states at a price point of $760. The Xperia Z, meanwhile, is essentially a more "premium" version of the phone, with a build that is both waterproof and made with glass. With that in mind, there's a good chance the T-Mobile Xperia Z offering could be on the pricey side.
