Verizon Updates Galaxy Note 2 with 'Jelly Bean' & Other Improvements

On Friday, Verizon Wireless released a major update for the Galaxy Note 2.

The carrier's latest update brings Android 4.1.2 ("Jelly Bean") to the handset, along with several Google security patches. The update also offers improvements to existing applications and features such as VZ Navigator, SMS text messaging, Verizon's Backup Assistant Plus, ISIS Mobile Wallet, Exchange Active Sync, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Galaxy Note 2 also receives new features including the ability to use Multiple Window View to juggle apps, newly available ringtones which can be directly downloaded from VZTones app, and downloadable languages which can be directly accessed from the keyboard. Additionally, the dialer now allows users to filter by name.  

The update also offers a few bug fixes. Users are now notified when the device enters Airplane mode, duplicate calendar events no longer appear when synced through apps (such as Facebook), and Backup Assistant Plus can now be setup automatically.

The update is roughly 246MB and takes around 10 minutes to install. Galaxy Note 2 users can install the update by following the instructions on Verizon Wireless' website.
