LG's newest flagship device, the LG Optimus G Pro, is set to launch on AT&T later this week. Now it seems that the new LG handset might make its way to Sprint, but possibly with a few variations.
On Tuesday a user agent profile on Sprint's website revealed a 1080p, Android 4.2.2 handset named the LS980. The post came after a similar unnamed LG device was leaked from @eveleaks on Twitter on Monday. The name of the mysterious handset lines up with AT&T's model number (E980), and it also matches the earlier listing at Bluetooth SIG.
However, despite the similarities, the rumored handset also seems to be sporting a few new changes including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor as opposed to the 600 variant offered in the existing LG Optimus Pro.
Is this an upgrade version of the LG Optimus Pro, or perhaps a sequel to LG's newest flagship device? Honestly at this point it's too early to tell, but something interesting appears to be on its way over at Sprint.
