It's been a long time coming, but the Windows Phone 7.8 update has finally made its way to the platform's last-generation flagship, the Nokia Lumia 900.
With the update, Lumia 900 users are given the stopgap version of WP that falls between WP 7.5 and 8, which provides as many of the WP 8 improvements that the limited, last-generation hardware will allow. The most prominent features of the update include the new Start screen (with new theme colors and a new tile size) and upgraded live tiles.
Other upgrades include new lock screen features, Bing image of the day wallpaper, and various other tweaks to improve performance. WP 7.8 for the Lumia 900 is available now and users will need to connect their phones to their computers and use the desktop software to receive the update.
