Nokia has announced pricing and availability of its entry-level, T-Mobile-exclusive smartphone, the Lumia 521.
The Lumia 521, which was revealed at this year's MWC, will be available on May 11 at Microsoft retail stores for $149 and at Walmart for $129.88. It will also be available via T-Mobile on May 22 for $29.99 down and 24 equal monthly payments. Like all of the carrier's phones now, the Lumia 521 will be offered with T-Mobile's new no-contract Simple Choice Plans.
The handset features a 4-inch touchscreen, HD Voice, 5MP camera with auto focus and 720p HD video recording. The Lumia 521 will also come pre-installed with some Nokia applications including Nokia Music, Cinemagraph, Creative Studio, Panorama, Smart Shoot and HERE Drive, Maps and Transit.
Devices sold through T-Mobile will also feature Wi-Fi Calling, but customers who purchase the device from a Microsoft retail store or Walmart will get the feature via an over-the-air maintenance release, which will begin rolling out on May 20.
