If the rumors are to be believed, the Google X Phone is no more. The Motorola X Phone, however, is.
Google has supposedly abandoned the X Phone project, handing the project off to be solely developed by Motorola. So while the X Phone still exists, the branding has changed and it may not feature stock Android or the tight Google integration that was expected of the device. The claims come courtesy of a Chinese analyst named Sun Chang Xu, who says that Google elected to have the X Phone's development handled completely by Motorola because it no longer saw the project as innovative.
Should this new development turn out to be true, it could mean that the X Phone will no longer be revealed at the Google I/O Developers Conference later this month, as some reports initially suggested. Rather, it may end up being announced later this year instead.
