The trend of increasingly large smartphone displays is no coincidence, according to a recent survey from Strategy Analytics, which found that customers are all about smartphones with bigger screens. More specifically, the survey found that the average preferred smartphone size was roughly 4.5 inches, and that was in the second half of 2012 (and an increase year over year).
Odds are good -- given the releases of even larger, yet equally popular, flagships since then -- that the preferred average is only going up. After all, Strategy Analytics also pointed out that most of the consumers surveyed said that they "preferred prototypes that have a larger screen than their current phone," indicating that, when it comes to display size, the majority just want more.
