LG 5-inch Flexible Displays to Make Appearance at SID This Week

Though LG previously confirmed that it would release a smartphone with a flexible display later this year, it appears that we will be getting a glimpse of the technology sooner rather than later.

On Monday, LG announced that it plans to demo a 5-inch flexible and unbreakable OLED display later this week at the Society for Information Displays (SID) Display Week trade show. The company is also set to unveil another 5-inch device with a 1mm wide bezel, allowing for the production of borderless smartphones that are both lightweight and emit less heat.

LG plans to release a smartphone with a flexible OLED display in the fourth quarter of 2013.
