A DowJones news wire published early in the morning on Saturday discusses a Treo 610 device that will likely be launched on the Verizon network. The article focuses on the fact that Sierra Wireless has been dumped by PalmOne for future modems in the Treo, but the Treo 610 is mentioned more than twice.
An investor research firm named Detwiler Mitchell & Co made the following statement: Sierra's "modem business with PalmOne may not be sustainable at its current rate, as we are hearing that PalmOne has plans to move away from Sierra Wireless for models following the Treo 600 and 610."
"The Detwiler Mitchell note said that Sierra could generate as much as $5-$7 million in revenue from PalmOne in the second and third quarters, as PalmOne is expected to launch the Treo 610 on Verizon Wireless's network. Verison is the biggest U.S. wireless carrier. Currently, the Treo 600 runs predominantly on Sprint Corp.'s (PCS) network in the U.S.

So it appears the 610 is known of by research analysts, but PalmOne is keeping a very, very tight lid on what this device will feature and when it will be released, but as the article states, it appears that a 2nd or 3rd quarter release which would mean anywhere between May and October.
