Google has already confirmed that starting on June 26 the search giant will offer "Google Edition" variants of some of the most popular Android handsets in the company's Play store. Respective flagship devices from Samsung and HTC have already been announced, as the Galaxy S IV and HTC One will be offered with a stock version of Android.
It seems that Sony may be the next company whose flagship will receive the Google treatment. According to a report issued by Android Central, Google is preparing to release a stock version of Sony's popular Xperia Z handset later this year.
About the Handset
Sony's flagship smartphone offers a 5" 1920 x 1080p full HD display, a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, with 2GB or RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage with micro SD support. The device boasts impressive water and dust resistances, and houses a 13 MP rear-facing camera.
The Sony Xperia Z Google Edition is expected to arrive in the Play store later this summer.
