This year's Google I/O conference came and went without any word about a new version of Android OS or any new hardware from the company. But we can rest easy, because Google finally has something new to tell us next week.
Invitations were sent out to the press earlier today for an early morning event scheduled for next Wednesday, July 24 at 9:00 AM in San Francisco. Though the invite did not indicate -- or even hint -- what the event will be about, so there's no guarantee that there will be any news about long-awaited Android 4.3 or the rumored next Nexus 7. But the invite did say that the event will be hosted by Sundar Pichai, Google's Senior Vice President of Android, Chrome, and Apps, so odds are good that we'll be hearing something Android-related, even if it isn't a new version of the OS.
