iPaq 6320 & 6700 PocketPC communicators
HP seems to be declaring war on RIM. Hot on the heels of news about HP's new 6500 series 'mobile messenger', new information has come to light about two more models of iPaq with built-in GSM for use as mobile communicators. This information comes to us via an individual who takes the phrase Non-Disclosure Agreement as really more of a suggested guideline than anything else.
The iPaq 6320 is a varient of the 6315 PPC phone running on Cingular's network. The 6320 is reportedly awaiting final FCC clearence, and will be released in 8 weeks.
Coming some time in the 3rd quarter of 2005 is the iPaq 6700. This model will be similar in spec to the 6500, but will feature built-in WiFi. In exchange, the 6700 will sacrifice its SDIO slot, using only a mini-SD slot for additional memory. While not specified, this will also likely be carried on Cingular.

Reported dates for iPaq 6500
From the same source earlier mentioned comes a timeline for the release of the iPaq 6500. Reportedly, HP will make an official announcement on March 17th, with carrier availability some time in the second quarter. While not explicitly said, the almost certain carrier for the device is Cingular, currently the only carrier in the U.S. with an EDGE high-speed data network. He also revealed that the 6500 is 4.5 inches long, 2.8 inches wide, and 0.63 inches thick, making it much thinner, but much wider, than the Treo 650.
