Treo 650 launches in Europe

The Treo 650 is now available to users in much of Europe. The phone will be available on the TIM network in Italy, and Orange in the U.K, France, and Switzerland, beginning in early March, with exact availability to vary by country.

Hitachi debuts 6 GB microdrives

It's a little disturbing to think that this is the same capacity as the hard drive of the new desktop PC I bought in 1998. But if you just can't have too much Storage on your PocketPC, Hitachi is more than happy to help with their newest and largest microdrives. Totalling up to 6 GB, these tiny spinning hard drives will cost you about $300. Seagate also has a new 6 GB microdrive, however their version is currently not available to users, only to OEMs for use in such applications as MP3 players.

Report: Sony Ericsson planning updated P series smartphone

According to information from a staff member at MobileReview, Sony Ericsson is planning an updated P series smartphone based on a new form-factor. Reportedly called the P915, it is expected to feature a QVGA display, Bluetooth, WiFi, and a single-piece design that eliminates the flip-out keyboard of the older P series models. Now, the keyboard will be mounted below the screen as with the Treo line.

Bluetooth crippling lawsuit expands

A class-action lawsuit against Verizon Wireless, filed on the grounds that the company deliberately crippled standard Bluetooth features in its v710 cell phone, is going nationwide. Previously only valid in California, the suit is now open to anyone in the U.S. who bought the v710 for its Bluetooth capabilities.
