Brighthand’s New Design Takes Flight

There is absolutely no doubt that smartphones have had a tremendous impact on both the consumer and business technology markets. In the past year, worldwide shipments of smartphones those devices that offer full browsing and multimedia messaging capabilities as well as the ability to handle advanced applications have increased more than 63%.

This growth is driven by a range of new and cutting edge devices, like those based on the Android operating system platform and Apple iPhone OS. In fact, Android devices have skyrocketed over the past year, resulting in a current 17% share of the worldwide market (as compared with the iPhones 13.5% share and RIM Blackberrys 18% slice of the pie).* More than 200,000 Android phones are activated each day, according to Google and market researcher IDC.

Analysts predict that within the next four or five years, roughly 3.7B mobile handsets (60% of the predicted worldwide installed base) will include Mobile Web browsers, positioning these small devices as the primary gateway to the Internet and Web-based applications and data.

Brighthand has kept pace with the rapid growth of the smartphone market by presenting a steady stream of solid news and reviews of new and exciting products that are revolutionizing the way consumers and business executives access the Web and interact with and share data each day.

Our editors and network of reporters around the world cover key developments and provide an authoritative look at the latest in smartphones and smartphone applications. Reviews are supported by our dedicated lab and experts who have the experience and knowledge to provide responsible buying advice and guidance.

In an effort to better present our news and review information, Brighthand has launched a new look and format that is highly graphic, highly readable and more navigable than ever before. This new design makes it easy to find information on the right smartphone for your application, as well as compare the latest models to find one that is just the right fit. The redesign also makes it easier to find tips on how to select the perfect smartphone for personal use or to deliver a positive return on investment for your business.

We have also increased our emphasis on applications by focusing more on software and services, and producing more reviews and evaluations on the smartphone software that matters.

The launch of Brighthand’s new look and feel is the second one for the TechnologyGuide group this year (the first being DigitalCameraReview.com), with more to come across the entire family of product news, reviews and evaluation Web sites. We hope you find it as useful and exciting as we do, and encourage your comments and suggestions as we continue to evolve Brighthand as a top buying decision resource for consumers and business users.
