IFA, the largest consumer electronics trade show in Europe — sometimes known as the European CES — will officially commence in Berlin this Friday. The world’s biggest manufacturers are expected to premier numerous devices from the consumer electronics, computing and telecommunications technology segments.
However, the biggest spectacle is scheduled the day before IFA is to open its doors to visitors. On Thursday, the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be presented — the first tablet that is a serious competitor to the Apple iPad, based on its features and brand-name recognition.
But it is possible that the Galaxy Tab is not going to be the only tablet launched tablet at IFA. ViewSonic recently announced the ViewPad 7, and there are rumors circling that Toshiba is preparing a device similar to Samsung’s upcoming one.
At this point, it is looking as if tablets running Google’s Android OS 2.2 are going to be the star of the IFA trade show this year.
