Navman is now offering a rebranded version of the MiTAC Mio 168, a Pocket PC with a built-in GPS receiver.
One of things that pleased me when looking at the Mitac Mio 168, was to see that a company, virtually unknown in comparison to mainstream manufacturers such as HP or Toshiba, is shipping a product with so many extras. Not to mention the brilliant screen and overall quality of the unit. Now it seems that NAVMAN has taken Mitac's Mio 168, rebranded and probably repackaged it for COMPUSA stores. Today's Sunday ad has a small feature on page 11.
MiTAC is going to launch Mio Technology, a subsidiary dedicated to offering the Mio line of Pocket PCs and smart phones in North America.
MiTAC has announced the Mio 168, which is the first Pocket PC to include a built-in GPS receiver. Unfortunately, it probably won't be available outside of Asia.
Mark/Space has released an app that allows Palm OS users to send a receive faxes and another that gives Mac OS X users more features when synchronizing with Palm OS handhelds. In addition, MiTAC is preparing a Pocket PC 2003 model, there’s a new MMS app, and more.
MiTAC is going to make a Smartphone 2002 device that uses a clamshell design and includes a small digital camera.
