More than half of smartphone users are disappointed with the performance of their devices, citing issues with streaming media, web browsers, and social networking apps, according to a new survey.
Shortly after a significant system software upgrade was released for Sprint's versions of Palm's latest smartphones, Verizon's webOS-based models have received it, too. webOS 1.4 brings the ability to record video, as well as a number of other enhancements.

The FCC has approved a device that evidence suggests could be AT&T's version of the Palm Pre. This wireless carrier has committed to offering two webOS models this year, and the first of these could be coming this spring.
BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion had the most popular smartphone platform in the U.S. in December 2009. However, RIM's share declined 1% from September, giving ground to Apple and Google, which both saw significant gains.
webOS 1.4 will reportedly be released next Monday, bringing some new features to Palm's latest smartphones. Among its enhancements will be support for the Adobe Flash player that will be released soon -- possibly at the same time.
