Microsoft will be powering the new Smartphone released in England yesterday titled the SPV (Sound, Pictures, Video). This smartphone will run Microsoft's Smartphone 2002 OS and come equipped with a digital camera. Microsoft hopes to beat out the Symbian OS and be the software manufacturer behind the next hottest selling handheld devices to be released in Europe this year and U.S. 2003 Device specs.

Handspring says it sold more Treo smartphones last quarter than ever before but it had to push back its estimate of when it will first be profitable to the middle of next year.

No release dates on this device yet, but Samsung has decided to produce a PDA / Cell phone combo that runs on a Microsoft OS instead of their usual Palm based smartphones. The Samsung SCH-I600 leans more toward being a phone than PDA. Check out the pictures of the upcoming device in this article. Samsung will also release the SPH-i500, a Palm based 3G enabled smartphone, in conjunction with the SPH-i600 release.
We are expecting to hear more about the Handspring Treo 300 smartphone as the week progresses. The Treo 300 will be the same as the colored Treo 270, but will be able to run on Sprint's 3G network to be rolled out this Thursday in the United States.
