Acer is reportedly working on a model similar to the Dell Streak, a device that walks the line between a smartphone and a tablet computer.
Not many details have leaked out on this upcoming cutting-edge tablet phone, but it will supposedly have a very large screen and run Android OS 3.0, the next version of Google’s operating system which is supposedly going to be better suited for tablets than the current one.
Like the Streak, Acer’s device will reportedly have a 5-inch display, and support for making phone calls. Acer is hoping to offer it through wireless carriers at a subsidized price, as Dell’s is.
The company has allegedly not yet decided whether to use a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor or an Nvidia Tegra 2 one.
The sources for this report, component suppliers in Asia, were not able to say when Acer’s tablet phone would be released.
This company is also supposedly working on two larger Android OS 3.0-based tablets, one with a 7-inch display and another with a 10-inch display.
