Acer to release two new PDA’s, one with integrated WiFi (Pictures)

Acer has announced they will release two new PDA’s, one with WiFi integrated, one without. There is no word on pricing or distribution in the US or Europe, but they do have English versions of both units.

Acer is using PPC for the OS and when released, should become the thinnest of all PPC devices at about half an inch. Keep in mind that HP is due to release the 2200 series iPAQ that will fight for the thinnest PDA title. The other twist is that the Acer will be the first PDA released in the US that utilizes Sony’s Memory Stick format. I’m not sure if Sony peripherals will work with the Acer, but non-Sony branded add-ons may be supported.

For now, here are the specs and a few more pictures for your viewing enjoyment!

The removable battery will be popular with those on the go and away from their cradles.

Use a Memory Stick and optional expansion sled to expand the power of the Acer.
